ELITE Sim­u­la­tion Solu­tions debuts of the TH22 pis­ton heli­copter pri­mary flight train­ing device at Sun N Fun 2014.

ELITE Sim­u­la­tion Solu­tions, in coop­er­a­tion with Daedalus Tech­nolo­gies and Lam­i­nar Research intro­duces the newest addi­tion to their fleet of heli­copter train­ing devices. From startup, run up to shut down, TH22 mod­els the form, func­tion and per­for­mance of the Robin­son R22 pis­ton heli­copter. Accord­ing to Wayne Keyes, ELITE Direc­tor of Busi­ness Devel­op­ment, “Our tur­bine heli­copters have been very suc­cess­ful but we’ve had a lot of requests for a pis­ton heli­copter. Since Robin­son is the largest man­u­fac­turer of civil heli­copters in the world, it was a log­i­cal choice that this would be our first. The ori­en­ta­tion and size of the visual dis­play gives the cor­rect spa­tial ori­en­ta­tion for hover train­ing, con­fined area land­ings, pin­na­cles, auto rota­tions and decel­er­a­tion maneu­vers. We also incor­po­rated a dynamic audio tac­tile feed­back sys­tem that totally immerses the pilot into heli­copter seat-of-the-pants flying.”
