Global Helicopter Mechanic Career Survey

Global Helicopter Mechanic Career Survey

8-Apr-2014 Source: ARSA

The aviation maintenance industry needs to find and grow technically skilled and trained talent. With global air traffic expected to expand at a healthy rate over the next twenty years, the demand for certificated repair stations–and the mechanics and technicians who staff them–will continue to rise. Looming retirements in the current workforce combined with the intense regulatory requirements surrounding training and apprenticeship have made the issue front-and-center for MRO providers across the world.

Turbomeca France and Helicopter Maintenance magazine have put together a survey to address the issue among rotor mechanics. The goal is for A&Ps/AMEs already working in the helicopter industry and those contemplating becoming A&Ps/AMEs to share their thoughts about their careers. What can be done to attract and keep more young people in the industry as many of the older generation retire? Through the efforts of Turbomeca, in association with Helicopter Association International (HAI), the European Helicopter Association (EHA), and Helicopter Maintenance magazine, the survey is alive and looking for your opinion. The survey is anonymous; you do not have to give your name or the name of the company where you work.

ARSA members can help; work with us to ensure the broadest possible awareness of the survey. Spread the word!
