Vector Aerospace UK, a leading provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services was recently honoured by the British Safety Council at the annual International Safety Awards.

The prestigious awards benchmark a company’s health and safety management at a specific site or business unit. In its inaugural appearance, Vector Aerospace UK’s Helicopter Services site at Fleetlands secured a Merit.

The accolade demonstrates the company’s enduring commitment to delivering high health and safety standards; the site already enjoys OHSAS 18001 approval from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.

The award was collected at Grosvenor House on 25th April at the 56th International Safety Awards Gala Dinner. Following a keynote address from the Chief of the Health and Safety Executive, Kevin Myers, Chris Hosking, Quality Director at Vector Aerospace and Brian Davis, SHEF Manager at Vector Aerospace received the award from Lynda Armstrong OBE, Chair of Trustees for the British Safety Council.

“This is a fantastic achievement but we have no intention on resting upon our laurels”, said Chris Hosking. “Next year we intend to submit another application on behalf of our entire UK operation, including our recently enlarged composites facility at Almondbank in Perth. Given that we demand high health and safety standards across all our facilities as part of our long-term investment in our employees, I have no doubt that you will see us here again in 2015”.
