The Helicopter Association International and its president, Matt Zuccaro, welcome the news that President Obama has nominated NTSB Vice Chairman Christopher Hart to fill the chairman’s position in the wake of Deborah Hersman’s departure.

“As a commercial-rated pilot, Chris Hart understands aviation and its importance to the nation,” said Zuccaro. “He is also the NTSB’s lead board member for helicopter safety. We share his strong desire to see improved helicopter safety and accept his challenge to make the helicopter industry even safer.

“We look forward to the Senate approving his nomination and working with him in the coming years toward our common goal.”
