Russian Helicopters present Mi-38 at Chinese trade fair

Holding Russian Helicopters  will take part in the XXV Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair HTF-2014. Holding representatives will hold talks with numerous regional partner companies and showcase series-produced and new models of civilian helicopters. Among the new ones is transport passenger helicopter Mi-38 and medium utility  Mi-171А2 .

International Economic and Trade Fair HTF-2014 will be held in Harbin from June 30 to July 4. “China is Russia’s key strategic partner in all aviation technology supply issues,” as Russian Helicopters CEO Alexander Mikheev noted. “At Harbin Fair, we look forward to showcasing current models of Russian-made helicopter, which are already operated in China, and introducing our colleagues to some of our newest developments. In particular – the unrivalled transport passenger helicopter Mi-38 and medium utility Mi-171А2, which can be operated by both commercial and state helicopter operators in China alike”, Holding CEO said.

The centerpiece of Russian Helicopters at the Harbin exhibition is a new utility helicopter Mi-38, which boasts a spacious passenger cabin, low noise and vibration indicators. The comfort and flight safety this helicopter offers are among the best of any helicopter in its class. In its cargo modification, the Mi-38 can carry up to 6 tonnes internally, and up to 7 tonnes on an external sling. It is also distinguished by its high cruising speed of 295 km/hour and flight range of up to 1,200 km.

The year 2015 should see certification completed and the launch of series production on the Mi-38. Series produced Mi-38 helicopters will be equipped with TV7-117V engines produced by Klimov company.

The Mi-8/17’s are undoubtedly the most popular Russian-made models in China. Currently, delivery of the final batch of Mi-171E helicopters under purchase contract for 52 of these aircraft, concluded with Rosoboronexport in 2012, is almost completed. The Mi-171A2 will also be on show at Harbin, as the latest model called to continue the Mi-8/17’s successes.

Also on display will be shown Ka-32A11BC, which is known as a reliable and fire rescue vehicle. Helicopter certified in China and regularly comes to this country. For example, in April this year Ka-32A11BC was delivered to the Office of Public Security of Shanghai.

Russian Helicopters will also showcase light utility Ka-226T. This helicopter can be operated in urban environments and mountainous regions alike. It engine can be operated in different climates with sudden temperature drops, as well as in icy conditions. This helicopter is designed for year-round operation and ready for non-hangar storage. The Ka-226T is one of the best high-rise helicopters in its class. During flight testing in mountainous regions, the Ka-226T reached altitudes of 7,500 meters and carried cargo weighing 200 kg at altitude of 5,200 meters. These qualities make the Ka-226T a very attractive helicopter to Chinese operators.

China ranks first among the Russian foreign trade partners. In 2013, bilateral trade volume came close to USD 90 billion, and by 2020 both countries plan to achieve a turnover of 200 USD billion. Business program of Holding Russian Helicopters  within the HTF-2014 includes meetings and talks with regional partner companies. In addition, Holding representatives are planning to participate in the Chinese Civilian helicopter Summit.
