Med-Trans Corporation and Ochsner Health System of Louisiana announced today their newly formed partnership, with Med-Trans becoming the air medical operator of the Ochsner Flight Care program.  The organizations formed this partnership as Ochsner was seeking a relationship with an air medical provider with similar attributes focused on safe and expeditious treatment and transport of critically ill or injured patients.

The newly formed partnership assures the region will continue to receive excellent clinical care as well as air medical services, reinforcing the reputation that the Ochsner Flight Care program has developed over the past 30 years. While Flight Care’s highly skilled clinical care and familiar faces will remain consistent, Med-Trans will introduce a new, state-of-the-art EC-135P2+ aircraft to be used by the program.  The new helicopter offers the latest in aircraft technology, safety equipment and features, such as night vision goggles, radar altimeter, GPS navigation, satellite tracking and communications and helicopter terrain alert warning systems (HTAWS).

“We are very excited about our new partnership with Med-Trans Corporation,” said Michael Hulefeld, Chief Operating Officer, Ochsner Health System. “Partnering with an industry-leading aviation provider allows us to continue to focus on what we do best, providing a high level of clinical care to patients in need. We expect the Ochsner flight program to continue to excel in fast response times, accessibility and overall service to our patients, their families and the referring facilities and healthcare providers that depend on us.”

Rob Hamilton, Chief Operating Officer of Med-Trans Corporation said, “We look forward to this newly formed partnership, working together to manage the highly regarded Ochsner Flight Care program well into the future.  We intend to build upon the flight program’s success under the alternative delivery model, which utilizes the best capabilities of Ochsner and Med-Trans to deliver a top-quality air medical service.”
