Sweden – Go-ahead for Värmland’s HEMS

Värmland’s County Council announced that it has been granted the Swedish Transport Agency’s permission to commence its HEMS operation. The permission allows daytime VFR operations in a first step, but it will be extended by adding IFR- and night operations. “Finally, it feels great that we are up and running”, says health director Tobias Kjellberg of Värmland County Council. The EC135 helicopter [Registered F-GYED] will be operating from a temporary station at Karlstad Airport, where it will be manned by one pilot, one anesthetist and one HEMS crew member.
