Sikorsky miss Helitech due to market conditions

Notable by its absence from Helitech, we have been in contact with Sikorsky to find out why they are not represented at Europe’s biggest helicopter trade show.  Paul Jackson from Sikorsky told us “Sikorsky made a business decision to forgo Helitech this year based purely on prevailing economics and market conditions.”

With Helitech organisers Reed modelling the event more and more as an event for the trade and not for private pilots or end users, that decision is a surprise.  Sikorsky has a big European market on the North Sea together with associated operators, leasing companies, and other suppliers who are at the show.  They also have a good record on corporate sales of the S76 over the years.

But it really begs the question “If Sikorsky are finding market conditions a concern, what about Airbus Helicopters, Bell, AgustaWestland and others?” – all of whom are represented at Helitech with aircraft.
