[electronic translation] DRF Air Rescue has won this year’s “Customer Innovation Award” of the IT company Matrix42 in Category Enterprise Mobility. The award was the mobile solution, which is used to manage all iPhones used in the DRF air rescue and app management. On 6 November, the award ceremony was held in Frankfurt under the Matrix42 Customer Day.
Each year, the IT company Matrix42 honors projects with exemplary character. The DRF air rescue had “the innovative use of mobile application shown, mainly through the interaction with the rest of the portfolio,” said the jury of Matrix42 justified the decision for the air rescue organization that has established itself over 20 applicants.
The DRF Air Rescue has several applications based on the Matrix42-range in use. This includes for example a solution to manage Tablet PCs (in the jargon Electronic Flight Bags, EFBs) that already come on board their ambulance aircraft for use and should be used on board all helicopters. The digital assistants facilitate the crews in their operations not only weather the query and the flight planning but also the navigation. Furthermore, the operating profit air rescue organization uses the entire workspace management solution from Matrix42, which allows a comprehensive job management and user support. The IT department on this basis, a self-service portal configured individually. So that employees can create the DRF air rescue, among other disorders with IT applications based on tickets themselves and pursue.
DRF Air Rescue employs at 30 stations in Germany and Austria helicopters for emergency rescue and transport of critically ill patients between hospitals, even at eight locations around the clock. About the helicopter rescue, the DRF air rescue leads global transport of patients by ambulance with aircraft. Last year, the red-white air rescuers launched a total of 38,180 operations.
