Russian Helicopters, part of State Corporation Rostec, is taking part in the international exhibition Mexico’s Aerospace Fair 2015, which will run from 22 to 25 April, at Military Airbase No. 1, located in Santa Lucía, Mexico. Russian Helicopters’ exhibition can be found at stand C-1-02b, pavilion C. At the event, Russian Helicopters will showcase its latest commercial helicopters and update regional partners on plans for developing its maintenance and service centre provision.

The latest Mi-8/17 helicopters will be showcased at the exhibition in a variety of configurations – including the VIP model. This series has, for years, taken a leading position among medium helicopters and is a success in both its commercial and military variants. High flight capabilities, reliability, multi-functionality, all-weather operability, ease of use and maintenance are key qualities that have earned it the trust of operators worldwide.

Visitors to Mexico’s Aerospace Fair 2015 will also have the opportunity to review upcoming developments from Russian Helicopters – the light Ka-226T and multirole Mi-171A2. The Ka-226T is a light multirole helicopter, which can be operated in dense urban areas and in mountainous locations. The Ka-226T is fitted with powerful, efficient Turbomeca Arrius 2G1 engines and the latest avionics. It boasts a low noise level and meets the latest environmental requirements. In March 2015, Russian Helicopters’ received AR IAC certification for the Ka-226T, a modernized version of the previously certified Ka-226. Certification of this new light helicopter model opens up broader commercial opportunities for Russian Helicopters.

The Mi-171A2, created on the basis of the Mi-8/17 series, combining that rich operational history with the latest technological developments. The Mi-171A2 can be operated in high mountainous areas, hot and tropical climates, extreme temperatures, and very dusty environments. It does not need to be kept in a hangar for storage or maintenance. Russian Helicopters launched flight tests on the Mi-171A2 in November 2014.

Mexico is home to a major service centre for the maintenance of Russian-made helicopters, and Russian Helicopters is looking at expanding its maintenance centre operations in the country. Providing high-quality maintenance and after sales service worldwide is a key priority for Russian Helicopters, as it plans to further develop its global network in line with the highest current international standards.

Russian Helicopters, (part of State Corporation Rostec), is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia.
