HAI President and CEO Matt Zuccaro spent most of last week rubbing elbows with the fixed-wing light GA world, as HAI set up shop at Sun ’N Fun, the first big fly-in event of the recreational flying season. Joined by HAI Director of Communications and Public Relations Chris Dancy, Zuccaro spoke with pilot after pilot who was interested in getting a rotorcraft add-on.

Attending events like Sun ’N Fun and EAA AirVenture Oshkosh later this summer give HAI the opportunity to teach the fixed-wing world more about the helicopter industry. One of the most frequent questions Zuccaro and Dancy answered was, “How do I get my rotorcraft certificate?” The two also spoke to members of the active duty and reserve military interested in their options to stay in helicopters after their time in uniform is over, and to young people interested in careers as either pilots or aviation technicians.
