The Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund has announced that Erickson, Inc. has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to support the Whirly-Girls by offering a highly valued and career developing scholarship. According to Colleen Chen, VP of Scholarships, “The Whirly-Girls are offering a record number of 25 scholarships for rotary career development, and we are certainly leading the way to promote women in helicopter aviation.”
The Whirly-Girls organization is an international organization of over 1800 female helicopter pilots in 45 countries. Erickson, Inc. recognizes the importance women contribute to aviation and thus has partnered with Whirly-Girls International to assist women aviators in their career development. Erickson continues to offer a scholarship to assist a Whirly-Girl in obtaining her vertical reference/external load endorsement. Jeff Roberts, President and CEO of Erickson Inc. states, “We believe Whirly-Girls is a worthy cause and are proud to have provided scholarships to the program for the past three years, as we are constantly working to promote aviation excellence within Erickson as well as throughout the industry.”
