The CommLab at the Helicopter Flight Training Center (HFTC) hosted its first class earlier this year.  To date, nearly 50 communication specialists have participated in the two-day simulation course.

The CommLab is a partnership between Flight Vector, Golden Hour, HSI, Xybix and Zoll.  Training scenarios take communication specialists through a variety of situations, both routine and unplanned.  While in the CommLab, specialists are able to communicate with pilots training down the hall in one of the HFTC’s flight simulators.

“The response to this course has been phenomenal,” said HFTC Director Terry Palmer.  “Communication specialists are able to learn new skills and sharpen their existing skills in a safe environment that allows mistakes and the all-important variable of time.”

The CommLab hosts a two-day course each month and recently released the 2016 course schedule:
