United Rotorcraft Delivers H130 Demonstrator to Airbus Helicopters

United Rotorcraft, an Air Methods Division, announced the delivery of a completed Airbus H130 (formerly EC130 T2) air medical transport service demonstrator for Airbus Helicopters Inc. in Grand Prairie, Texas.   The aircraft was completed at the United Rotorcraft Decatur, Texas facility and includes medical interior, avionics, exterior lighting accessories, and three-color paint scheme was designed by Airbus and applied at United Rotorcraft’s newly constructed, state of the art 6,600-square-foot paint booth.

This program also allows United Rotorcraft to leverage our position as the first supplier of an H130 air medical transport interior kit with a Federal Aviation Administration-issued STC, as well as highlighting our unique product line,” said Frank Graham Sr., director of global sales and marketing.  “We are confident that our highly capable mission systems will contribute to the H130’s popularity and success domestically and globally.”

Airbus has begun a multi-city tour to demonstrate the H130 and its highly versatile, next-generation capabilities as an efficient and low-cost air ambulance to U.S. air medical transport services. The demonstration aircraft will be featured by Airbus at its booth at the Air Medical Conference in Long Beach, October 19-21.United Rotorcraft’s FAA approved air medical interior includes the Patient Loading System (PLS) to easily load and secure patients and neonatal isolettes for transport.  The interior equipment package also includes an optional right-hand outboard, crashworthy Fischer flip-up seat that stows in the up position when occupied, which significantly increases the cabin space for loading and unloading of patients.  On board medical systems include a 10-liter Liquid Oxygen (LOX) system, integrated compressed air, suction, and tailored mounts to accommodate carry-on medical equipment as well as AC power.

The United Rotorcraft state of the art avionics suite includes the Garmin G500 multifunction display integrated with Garmin GTN 750/650 GPS/NAV/COMM radios in a custom instrument panel and glare shield.  Additionally, the avionics suite includes Garmin HTAWS, traffic, weather, satellite tracking, NAT Internal Communications System (ICS) and Technisonic tactical radios for ground communication.  The avionics suite and medical interior are Night Vision compatible and the FAA approved STC is held by Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Inc. (ASU).
