Aerolite has announced today that EASA have issued STC approval for an AW169 air medical interior. The actual approval was completed in December 2015, but Aerolite have not stated if it was their delay in broadcasting the news, or EASA being slow with the paperwork. The STC is for the first of a family of interior configuration options that Aerolite is developing for different operational profiles and operator needs around the world.
The company, based in Switzerland and with operations in the USA as well, report an uptick in information requests from potential AW169 operators looking at EMS, parapublic or SAR configurations. Roland Hengartner of Aerolite says that the they have already delivered components for six air medical interiors destined for different end users.
Since it began in 1995, Aerolite has become a leading air medical interior innovator and supplier for the AgustaWestland AW109, AW139, AW169, Airbus H135 and H145, Bell 429 and 412 and MD902 helicopters.
