Aerlex Law Group President Stephen Hofer and Aerlex Tax Services CEO Vicky Boladian will both be speaking at an educational seminar being held on Monday, February 29, in conjunction with the Helicopter Association International (HAI) Heli-Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. Heli-Expo, the world’s largest helicopter exhibition and trade show, runs from February 29th through March 3rd at the Kentucky Exposition Center on the fairgrounds of the Kentucky State Fair.

HAI’s Finance & Leasing Committee is presenting the February 29th day-long seminar, entitled “Proper Planning: The Key to Successful Helicopter Acquisitions.” The program will bring industry experts together from around the world to examine all aspects of helicopter acquisitions in a series of interactive sessions. Mr. Hofer – who also spoke at Heli-Expo in 2014 – will team with aviation insurance broker Jim Gardner of The James A. Gardner Co., Inc. in Marietta, Georgia, to discuss “Risk Management and Insurance,” both generally and specifically as it relates to rotorcraft.

Aerlex’s tax expert, Ms. Boladian, is participating in a panel that will look at “Issues to Consider Prior to Purchasing or Leasing a Helicopter.” Ms. Boladian, who will focus on the various pre-purchase tax aspects of a helicopter acquisition, will be joined by panelists Ed Eckhart of Eckhart Helicopter Sales, Grayslake, Illinois, and two representatives from Waypoint Leasing, Clark McGinn, Senior Vice President of Sales, based in Limerick, Ireland, and Marc Schechter, Vice President, Risk and Analysis, based in Darien, Connecticut.

This year’s Heli-Expo is expected to draw over 20,000 attendees, including operators, pilots, maintenance technicians, managers, and safety professionals, who come from all around the world to see the latest in rotorcraft and technology, connect with vendors, network with industry peers and attend educational programs. More than 700 companies will be exhibiting at Heli-Expo and all of the major manufacturers will display helicopters in the convention hall. In addition, a full range of professional education programs, including courses in safety, pilot proficiency, maintenance, management and career development, will be offered, along with workshops, forums and special events highlighting current trends in the industry.
