Cadorath exceeds OEM standards and plans next regulatory step

Six months ago, Cadorath earned Design Approval Organization (DAO) status with Transport Canada. Now, the company has distinguished themselves within the DAO group by defining their advantage: top-level system controls.

Newly-appointed DAOs must document and control their processes with the same level of specificity as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This regulation inspired Cadorath to move one step further and redefine quality.

“If you look at the repair approvals we have under today’s governing system, you can see that they are more stringent than those of the past,” says Shane Zakaluk, Director of Engineering. “We thrive in this system because we’ve always been focused on quality. But we know approvals are going to get more stringent again in the future. Therefore, we’ve modified our system controls today, so our repairs will stand up to re-qualification in the future.”

The modifications to the system controls optimizes the design, substantiation, testing and ultimate approval of extended repairs. By initially focusing on the process and establishing standardized data, Cadorath can minimize the cost and time frames of future extended repair requests.

“When we focus on the processes instead of individual repairs, our customers will see the improvements on all of their repaired components – not just the new designs,” says Cadorath’s Senior Vice President David Haines.

The Cadorath team looks forward to providing a higher-level of service by continuing to improve their current repairs and expanding capabilities into other components. The company plans to introduce new technologies that automate and increase the repeatability of current processes within the maintenance, repair and overhaul industry. It’s just one new way Cadorath is fulfilling their company promise of delivering “More UP Time” to clients.
