FAA approves Bell to repair Van Horn tail rotor blades

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today that its Bell Helicopter Blades repair operation has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to repair Van Horn composite tail rotor blades for Bell 206 Series models.

The Broussard, LA based facility has more than 35 years of helicopter blade refurbishment experience. The location will offer a variety of authorized repairs for the Van Horn composite tail rotor including:

  • Spherical bearing replacement
  • Data tag replacement
  • Replacement/Repair of damaged wire mesh
  • Refinish
  • Balance

Additional repairs for the tail rotor blade can also be made through Bell Helicopter engineering for damage such as skin perforations, voids and tip block damage. The approval for replacement of the abrasion strip is also in the works.
