The US Dept of Defense has announced the aware of a $170M contract for nine AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, including auxiliary fuel kits. The release indicated that the helicopters are for the Pakistan military, through the standard Foreign Military Sales program. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (60 percent); and Amarillo, Texas (40 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2018. Foreign military sales funds in the amount of $170,173,188 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
