Maverick Helicopters is now offering Maui’s first-ever air and landing Hana Rainforest Experience. The 75-minute excursion is unlike any other in Hawaii.

Maverick Helicopters uses several acres of remote Hana Rainforest landscape, which has been untouched for decades, for guests to experience the authentic beauty of Maui and to promote conservation of the beautiful island. Within this natural, undisturbed acreage, the company is revitalizing a former taro plantation, highlighting the importance of a native Hawaiian cuisine staple and creating jobs for the local community. The nostalgic, immersive adventure truly takes patrons back in time to an older, untouched Hawaii.

The experience showcases the north coast of Maui with distant views of Haleakala, Maui’s dormant volcano, and the island’s breathtaking sea cliffs. Additional trip highlights include bird’s-eye-views of Paia, a charming beach town off the North Shore; Ho’okipa, known for great windsurfing; Jaws, a legendary surf area in Haiku; the Road to Hana, a popular, windy road known for its unbelievable views; Jurassic Rock, the rock formation featured in the original “Jurassic Park” movie and Wailua, a small town rich with taro.

The helicopter will descend and land into Maverick Helicopters’ exclusive landing spot where guests will have approximately 30 minutes to explore the remote landscape by foot. Patrons will be awestruck by the unparalleled sightseeing and photo opportunities as they’re surrounded by towering waterfalls; natural-growing vegetation including bananas, coconuts, lemons, ginger plants and lilikoi trees; sweeping streams; a revitalized taro plantation; and more.

During each excursion, passengers will enjoy flying in the world’s safest and most comfortable tourism-based helicopter – the Airbus EC130 ECO-Star aircraft. The luxurious aircraft offers guests a spacious cabin for up to seven passengers; voice-activated headsets; theater-style, leather seating; and wraparound windows for superior visibility.
