A multi-year contract is being negotiated between The Defence Department and Boeing. The contract is for 275 AH-64E Apache helicopters, costing at $3.3 billion. As reported by DoD Buzz, the negotiations began after the Army’s proposed procurement plan was approved by the Office of the Secretary of Defence. The Army hopes to get sign approval by 2017. The multi-year approach to the Apache contract is in hope of being able to save $1 billion over five years’ time.
