North Memorial Air Care gets NAAMTA Accreditation

NAAMTA’s Accreditation program is built on providing standards that focus on quality patient care and transport safety. Using a comprehensive audit of administrative documentation, medical practices, and facilities, NAAMTA is awarding North Memorial Air Care medical transport accreditation for their rotor-wing program.

North Memorial demonstrates compliance to each of the defined standards, excels in identifying best practice procedures, and instills these values in their employees. NAAMTA verified compliance through employee interviews, process reviews, and on-site evaluations, all of which were conducted using ISO9001:2008 auditing guidelines.

Pat Coyne, Vice President of Medical Transportation, North Memorial Health Care stated,“North Memorial Air Care is committed to providing the safest possible air medical transportation system. We adopt the best practices, operations and technologies conducive to creating and maintaining an environment where safety is emphasized and risk minimized.”

Nancy Purcell, NAAMTA’s Director of Clinical Operations said, “It was impressive to witness North Memorial’s implementation of a quality system. Beginning with their hospitals, and extending to Air Care, the implementation of ISO processes is reflected in the effectiveness of their quality management utilization.

Nancy Purcell added, “Additionally, North Memorial Air Care’s commitment to professionalism and leadership in the community is evidenced by the development and administration of high fidelity trauma training for both Air Care’s medical teams and community EMS personnel. Their research collaboration with local university scholars produced a new evidence-based approach to evaluating and improving the performance of medical teams during such scenario-based training’s.
