A helipad has been proposed for opposite the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) in Goderich. Currently, the procedure of driving an ambulance to a patient, transporting them to the airport and then being transferred onto an Ornge helicopter and flown to the hospital can take up to 30 minutes, if all goes smoothly.

A helipad can shorten that time greatly. Dr. Paul Gill has spoken to officials of AMGH about the helipad, and proposed it be by operated by Ornge helicopters. The hospital currently uses Ornge, with 17 patients being flown out of AMGH in the past six months alone, reports Bayshore Broadcasting.
