South Boston’s waterfront has been chosen as the local for the first new helipad in over 16 years. The new location, a pier owned by the city lies behind Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, was announced at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Centre.

As reported by Boston Globe, officials are considering the helipad be on either a floating barge, on the actual pier itself or on a neighbouring property owned by Massachusetts Port Authority.
