Leonardo-Finmeccanica had their first successful test flight this week of their new remotely piloted SW-4 helicopter, dubbed the Solo. The successful test flight means they can now launch their test campaign. CEO and General Manager, Mauro Moretti, has said that the Solo is testament to the company’s innovation and commitment to the field of unmanned aircraft.
They plan to be the only European company that can offer a complete unmanned system, reports Defence World. The Solo can be used for operations such as disaster relief, SAR, hydrological and infrastructure monitoring and firefighting.
