Indian Army Retires Chetak and Cheetah Fleet

The Indian Army is retiring their ageing fleet after recent accidents. They will be retiring their Chetak and Cheetah platforms and replacing them with 40 Dhruv LUHs and 200 Kamov Ka-226T “Hoodlum” helicopters.

They also plan for 140 units to be built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited who will be partnering with Russian Helicopters and Rosoboronexport, Russia’s military export agency, reports IHS Jane.
