The UK Government gave Boeing permission to build a new base in Boscombe Down as well as a contract for 50 Apache helicopters. Boeing has received some negative feedback from Leonardo Helicopters and their respective employee unions over job security in Yeovil.

Nick Whitney, Boeing’s Spokesperson, has stated that they have no intention of moving any work that is in Yeovil to Boscombe Down. He further explained that Boscombe Down is going to focus on the development of fixed-wing assets, which will not affect Yeovil’s rotary-wing developments, reports BBC.
