North Mississippi Medical Centre’s Careflight has recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. Over the years they have had interesting cases and locations. From landing at a cemetery to a front yard, they have been busy. Al Wright, a paramedic who has flown with Careflight since 1987, has stated how joining the flight crew back then was exciting rather than nerve wrecking.
Before North Mississippi Medical Centre had its own helicopter, they had to use the National Guard with emergency patients. Today, Careflight averages 100 flights per month between their bases in Tupelo and Starkville, reports D Journal.
