Russian Helicopters, part of State Corporation Rostec, will take part in IDEX-2017 international exhibition, which will take place February 19-23 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Russian Helicopters will not only showcase most promising models, but will also conduct negotiations with current operators and potential buyers of helicopters from North African, Near and Middle Eastern countries.

“Russian Helicopters is efficiently collaborating with the Near-Eastern partners.  Today, there is a rapidly growing helicopter market in the region, and as such it is one of the top priorities for us.  We offer Near Eastern customers a wide range of helicopters for both the military and civilian use,” said Russian Helicopters CEO Andrey Boginsky.

The military model range is represented by the Mi-35M and Mi-28NE attack helicopters, as well as by the Ka-52 reconnaissance and combat helicopter.

The Mi-35M was created based on the Mi-24/Mi-25/Mi-35 series.  It can be used in combat in both good visual and in adverse weather conditions, day and night.  The helicopter is armed with precision guided and unguided weapons.  Apart from combat missions, the Mi-35M can transport troops and cargo and perform medical evacuation.

The Mi-28NE is a highly efficient, next-generation helicopter designed to carry out combat missions in any weather, around the clock. It is distinguished by its enhanced survivability and powerful weapon systems. The helicopter can be successfully used against tanks, self-propelled artillery, infantry combat vehicles, armored trucks and battle air defense. In 2016, the export version of the Mi-28NE was equipped with a dual flight control system.

The Ka-52 “Alligator” is an all-weather reconnaissance and combat helicopter, one of world’s best in terms of flying characteristics, armament and operational capabilities. The first export contract for Ka-52 was signed in 2016.

Of profound interest for the exhibition visitors are also the newest Mi-171A2, light Ka-226T and Ka-32A11BC helicopters with specialized firefighting equipment.

The Mi-8/17 type helicopters have high-performance flight characteristics, reliability, and operability in a wide range of conditions and temperatures, which made them a bestseller in the Near Eastern region.

The Mi-171A2 is a deep modernization of Mi-8/17, made with respect to the achievements of the modern aviation technologies.  The helicopter has new, more powerful and more efficient Klimov VK-2500PS-03 engines; a main rotor with composite blades and improved aerodynamics; an X-shaped tail rotor; completely new integrated avionics deployed using an open-architecture KBO-17 glass cockpit.

The Ka-226T helicopter, which is also displayed at IDEX 2017, has a unique set of features that make it indispensable for operations on small pads, including mountainous areas.  Due to its excellent maneuverability, small size, absence of the anti-torque rotor and high power-to-weight ratio, the helicopter is capable of performing transportation and special tasks under rough conditions. In addition to the above, its low noise level and compliance with modern and potential environmental requirements allow to use the Ka-226T over densely populated areas.

The Ка-32А11ВС helicopters produced by Russian Helicopters are equipped with the cutting edge firefighting systems, including a Bambi Bucket and Simplex as well as water guns for horizontal firefighting. Ka-32 in hovering mode can perform drafting and discharge of 3,200 liters of water in as little as 1.5 minutes. Design features of the helicopter with a coaxial scheme ensure highly precise hovering and maneuverability.  This is why Ka-32A11BCs are second to none in providing fire safety in urban conditions with many high-rise buildings.

Russian Helicopters specialists will take part in the business program of the exhibition and conduct negotiations with current operators and potential buyers of helicopters from North African, Near and Middle Eastern countries.
