Dragonfly Pictures Inc. has developed a dual-rotor UAS, called the DP14 Hawk, that the US Army hopes will one day be used for wounded soldier evacuation. The drone can carry up to 430 pounds for 24 hours in its cargo space of 6-feet by 20-inches. Cruising speeds reach up to 82 miles per hour. It self-navigates by using LIDAR, algorithms and 3D laser scanning. The DP14 is now a part of the US Army Medical Research and Material Command, reports UAS Vision.
