Russian Helicopters has signed a contract with the government of the Pakistani province of Punjab for the delivery of a new civilian Mi-171E multipurpose helicopter. The helicopter is produced by Ulan-Ude Aircraft Works, reports Defence Aerospace.
The new helicopter has to be delivered in the second quarter of the year. It will be used for both civilian transport as well as VIP, cargo missions as well as in emergency situations. The aircraft can hold up to 4 tons of cargo or 27 passengers. It has been fitted with search and rescue equipment such as a searchlight.
