Ornge Air Ambulance has been granted access to the Health Science Centre’s newly opened helipad in Winnipeg after two months of negotiations. This impacts their response time significantly. Before they had to land at Winnipeg International Airport and then transfer the patient into a driven ambulance. This process was essentially doubling their response time. Being allowed to land at the helipad will ensure a faster response time for all patients between Northern Ontario and Winnipeg, reports Kenora Daily Miner and News.
