The Peruvian Fire-Fighting Department has suggested that they might be considering purchasing Military Mi-171 multirole helicopters from Russian Helicopters. They gave high praise during the Peruvian international defence exhibition, SITDEF-2017. They expressed further interest in the high-altitude version of the Mi-171. Russian Helicopters has commented on this version, stating that it is distinguishable by its VK-2500 engine that works with a Safir auxiliary power unit. Another selling point, reports Tass, is that it is able to carry a 4,000 litre water dispense system.
