A ground-breaking ceremony was held at the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport in Dallesport to mark the beginning of the construction of their new hangar. The 15,000-square foot hangar is hoped to be finished between six to eight months. Life Flight will be able to keep both their helicopter and fixed-wing airplane into the hangar with remaining space being rented out.

The hangar project is calculated to cost $1.8 million.  Klickitat County and the city of The Dalles are each paying half of this amount, as well as their partner in the project, Mid-Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD), contributing $625,000 after applying for a federal grant, reports The Dallas Chronicle. The 15,000-square foot hangar is hoped to be finished between six to eight months.
