Rockies Heli Canada has sent in a proposal for the construction of a helipad for commercial helicopter tour flights at the base of Mount Yamnuska. The proposal has been met with much opposition from hikers, conservationists and guides. Many argue that a helicopter constantly touring Mount Yamnuska will have a negative effect on the ecology, the multiple habitats as well as creating noise pollution, ruining the experience of hiking the area.  Alberta Environment and Parks officials are currently reviewing the proposal, reports Rocky Mountain Outlook.
