The UK is upgrading their Royal Air Force’s Boeing Chinook HC4 helicopters. The fleet will be brought to the new HC6 standard, reports IHS Jane’s. The 38 helicopters are being given Boeing Digital Automatic Flight Control Systems, replacing their analogue systems. This process is planned to take up to 12 months. They also are adding Airborne Avoidance Systems, but under a different contract than the previously stated one.
