The South Korean Board of Audit and Inspection has recently criticized the KAI’s twin-engine Surion helicopter. They have suggested an investigation of the country’s Defence Acquisition Program Admin. It has been said that the Surion failed 29 of 101 test items during the performance in cold weather tests. Apparently KAI falsified Surion development costs and made 24 billion won off of it. They developed the helicopter with South Korea’s Agency for Defence Development, Korea Aerospace Research Institute and Airbus. The project came just under 1.3 trillion won, reports Rotor and Wing International.
