Prospect has signed recognition agreement with Babcock Mission Critical Services (BCMS) for Engineering and Mechanical staff after two year battle.
The voluntary agreement follows a Central Arbitration Committee ballot of engineers in which staff voted for Prospect to represent them. 73% of staff took part and with not a single ballot against. In negotiation with the company that recognition has now been extended beyond the licensed aircraft engineers to the mechanics who work alongside them. The agreement covers pay, leave and hours of work.
“The new agreement is recognition of the determination of members to get representation in the workplace” said Prospect negotiator David Avery ” We can now get started on the process of consulting members for next years pay negotiations, the first in the history of the company”
