Tunnelton’s new helipad was opened this past weekend with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new 50 by 50 foot concrete helipad was made possible by the donations of the community. The project in total came to $14,680, reports The Preston County News and Journal. Tadd Rankin, president of the Tunnelton Community Ambulance Service, donated his land for the helipad to be built on and many local businesses worked at discounted rates. The helipad will be used by Air Methods helicopters with HealthNet Aeromedical Services medical teams inside.
