Charges against the Department of the Environment and Energy, and Helicopter Resources Pty Ltd have been laid following the death of 62-year-old pilot, David Wood. Mr Wood fell down a crevasse while delivering fuel drums. He died of hypothermia the following day. Comcare, federal work health and safety regulator, has said that the department has “failed in its duties under the federal Work Health and Safety Act,” reports The Mercury.
