Salford Royal Hospital are developing plans for a new £48 million trauma centre with helipad to be built. Once the plans are completed, they will need approval from NHS England before they are able to begin with construction. The new centre will include a helipad, a resuscitation area, critical care beds, diagnostic imaging and five new emergency operating theatres. Should approvals go as planned, the centre will be completed by 2020, reports Manchester Evening News.
