Over the past 30 years, Pawan Hans has been involved in 25 accidents, where 91 people have died. This has caused the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to launch a probe into the company. Five of the 25 cases are still undergoing investigation, but reports show that common findings from all cases include non-fulfillment of procedures, not complying to safety regulations as well as a lack of helicopter maintenance. In order to prevent further incidents, Pawan Hans has appointed two independent board directors who will oversee Flight Operations Quality Assurance assessment, reports Indian Express.
