Guardian Air is looking into the purchase of a new CPR compression device for its EMS helicopters. The device consists of a band that is wrapped around a patient’s chest, where contractions can be programmed to different rates and pressure. The device can allow patients to receive cardiac attention while paramedics then have more time for other medical administration. One machine costs $11, 000, and they are looking to purchase seven, reports Seattle Times.
