Thailand to acquire at least six new attack helicopters

The Royal Thai Army is looking to purchase 6 new attack helicopters. The announcement to replace their aging Bell AH-1F Cobras came at a press conference on June 12, reports JANE IHS. Helicopters that are under consideration include the Mil Mi-28, Kamov Ka-52, Boeing AH-64 Apache, Bell AH-1Z Viper, Airbus Helicopters’ Tiger, Harbin Aircraft Industry Group’s Z-19 Black Whirlwind and Leonardo’s AW129 Mangusta.
