Polish military helicopter procurement in disarray

Poland has had numerous issues with their procurement programme for new helicopters for its armed forces, with the most recent change in events being the announcement that the programmed was being “shelved.” The initial tender began in 2012 for 70 helicopters, but was reduced to 50 in 2015. The agreement was cancelled due to a change in government and was instead played as two separate lots of 8 helicopters in 2016. Yet on 11 June, there was an announcement saying that the invitation to submit offers had been withdrawn. When questioned, the Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak denied that the offer was withdrawn, reports Flight Global.
