Russian Helicopters plans on ditching western-built engines

Russian Helicopters has announced that they plan to locally build engines for all light helicopters, rather than rely on foreign engines. They have sent the technical requirements to United Engine Corporation, for the development of Ka-226 and Ka-62 engines. They do not want to prohibit the supply of western engines, but are focusing on local companies going into the future, reports Russian Aviation Insider.
