Metlifecare is delighted to be sponsoring the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust for the tenth year running.

The Trust owns and operates the Auckland-based Westpac Rescue Helicopters, servicing around 1.5 million residents and visitors.

2020 brings additional challenges for the Trust as it continues to raise funds to deliver two new state of the art helicopters and makes considerable investment in hangars, staff training and rapid response vehicles, at its new Ardmore base – all while undertaking more than 1,000 rescue missions a year.

General Manager of Marketing Julie Garlick said Metlifecare was happy to play a small role in ensuring the future of the region’s three rescue helicopters.

“We really appreciate the work the Trust does and see it as invaluable to the region, not least because we have at least one village located a distance from hospitals that might one day need to call on the aeromedical services the helicopter provides.”

Simon Tompkins, Chairman of the Trust said steady funding streams make all the difference to an organisation like ARHT.

“This year, in particular, they’re essential to help us face the challenges in front of us. We’re delighted to have this enduring ten-year relationship with Metlifecare.”
