The government of Republika Srpska – a region of Bosnia and Herzegovina – have confirmed an order for three helicopters, according to a news item published by Russian agency RIA Novosti. This follows a visit to Moscow by Milorad Dodik, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which included a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian minister for defence, Sergei Shoygu.
The Republika Srpska police force are acquiring three Kazan Ansat helicopters, to be based at Banja Luka and Sarajevo. They are expected to be operated by the government owned Helicopter Service of RS, which currently flies three Gazelles, a Bell 206 JetRanger and a Leonardo AW119.
Delivery of the aircraft is scheduled for September 2020, May 2021 and January 2022
