Romania receives three EMS Airbus H135s

[electronic translation] Madam Ambassador, Laurence Auer, attended, alongside her German counterpart, Mr. Cord Meier-Klodt, the reception of the first three Airbus H135 Helionix helicopters , delivered in Bucharest to the General Aviation Inspectorate , which will be used for emergency medical operations . She was accompanied by the internal security attaché. Interior Minister Lucian Bode was also present at the ceremony.

The H135 is one of the most efficient light twin-engine helicopters produced by Airbus, the leading benchmark in the field of emergency medical services. The helicopters will be used mainly for medical evacuation, search and rescue missions in difficult conditions, especially in the mountains, and aerial interventions for critical medical cases.

” These helicopters are the symbol of European excellence. This delivery of the latest generation of fully digitalized aircraft represents one of the most emblematic Franco-German cooperation “, declared Madam Ambassador. In addition, she affirmed that “cooperation on relief and emergency aid is a priority cooperation in Franco-Romanian relations” .

This helicopter delivery takes place in the context of the 4-year framework agreement, awarded to Airbus in 2019, so that the French company can deliver its latest generation aircraft to Romanian medical services, in the difficult context of to the coronavirus pandemic. At the end of the deliveries provided for by this framework contract, the full order currently being six devices, IGAv will have a complex and complete set, perfectly suited to its needs in MEDEVAC and Search And Rescue type missions.
