Airbus proposes new heat resistance solution for H135 tail drive shaft fairing

As part of the product improvement programme for its light twin engine H135 aircraft, Airbus Helicopters is proposing a new heat resistance solution for the tail drive shaft (TDS) fairing, while improving its reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
This new TDS fairing, available on all EC135 variants, is made of material that prevents thermal deformation due to hot engine exhaust gases.
It was developed in particular to reduce cases resulting in a premature replacement of the part, such as operations that cause the engine exhaust to deviate direction and flow directly over the TDS fairing (as in, for example, extended hover combined with a tail wind), which can lead to a higher than average thermal action on the fairing.
This new part, which is easy to replace without any aircraft modifications thanks to the same form, fit and function as the standard TDS fairing part, can be ordered via a spare parts sales administrator.
